In March, over Bob’s spring break, my parents decided to have a W family vacation to Fort Myers, Florida. We were excited, and decided to extend our trip a little bit by flying in early to go to Universal Studios! For my bachelorette party, my girlfriends and sister planned an awesome trip to Orlando and to go to the newly opened (at the time) Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure. Since the new Diagon Alley park recently opened on the Universal side of the park, I knew I had to visit again! Bob is most definitely not a HP fan, but he put up with all of my picture taking, oogling over the little details, and constant exclamations! We got hopper passes so we could do both parks…so Bob was super pumped to ride the big rollercoasters on the IofA side.
Walking into Diagon Alley
Gringotts…the ride here is awesome but unfortunately it broke down while we were in line and we ended up having to wait over an hour to ride! (the rest of the day we rode as single riders on nearly every ride and hardly waited in line for anything!)
The Knight Bus
The shrunken head hanging in the window actually conversed with you, and neither Bob nor I could figure out where they were listening/watching from to voice him!
Walking ‘through’ the brick to platform 9 3/4! The mirror was strategically placed over the doorway to give the illusion as you walked by that people were going through the brick…it was a neat touch!
The Hogwarts Express (it takes you between the two parks…we rode right after we had done the Gringott’s ride to avoid the lines and didn’t wait at all!)
The weather was perfect while we were at the parks, and Universal has this great locker program that you can store bags in while you are riding the rides, so I didn’t have to worry about my camera the whole time! (and yes, I did bring my big camera in!)
I was so excited for Bob to try butterbeer and it was the perfect morning treat!

I really wanted to have ice cream at Florean Fortescue’s but the line was out-the-door-long!
We did eat dinner at the Leaky Cauldron though!
And the food was SO yummy!
We did almost everything in both parks…I just mostly took pictures of the HP things 🙂
We had such a fun day at both parks and were both EXHAUSTED when we left at closing!
