Winter Catch Up

I feel like I haven’t had much to blog about for the past few months….but wanted to tie up some loose ends of the little things we have been up to!

We went to the annual Christmas Tree Burning on a nearby lake where 300+ trees are burned in a huge bonfire!

It was pretty cold and windy, but we still had fun!

Bob and his buddy Hans went to Red Bull’s Crashed Ice for the 4th (I think) time!

It starts at the Cathedral of St. Paul where the skaters then traverse a steep course to the finish line

We got a new lamp in our living room that Bob was super excited about 🙂

Bob was super excited to see the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile at work!

Valentine’s Day weekend this year we decided to be of service to other families who have small kids and volunteer to baby-sit

Friday night our church hosted a couples workshop (that we had already done in our small group) so along with Billy and Becca from our group watched the kiddos whose parents were attending.  I think we had about 15 kids and we were TIRED by the end!  Hopefully we tired the kiddos out so their parents had an easy night as well 🙂

The cake above was made by Terri, one of our pastor’s wives and small group leader, and let me tell you how absolutely AMAZING it was!

The whole table and decorations were amazing and I am positive all of the couples loved every minute!

Then, Saturday night, we baby-sat for our friends Rob and Laura who have Laila and Quinn so that they could have a night out.  It was so much fun to play and laugh with these two girls!

Quinn in an Anna wig!  We just about died laughing!

Then I laughed even harder when Bob wore it!

Laila wasn’t too sure about us at first, but Bob quickly won her over and we had a great time!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day the following weekend at one of our favorite restaurants, Manitou Station.

Bob surprised me one night by making my absolute favorite dessert from our vacation, Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.  It is absolutely to die for and if you ever go on a Carnival cruise you MUST order it at dinner (I did every single night!)

I was so happy to finish sewing the numbers and letters on these customized jersey’s for a friend from church (who I teach Cubbies -preschool- with on Wednesday nights).  Sewing on jersey material will NOT be on my list of things to do every again!

But I think they turned out well!

I finished our 2014 Shutterfly book which I was excited about, considering last years didn’t get finished until September as I recall 🙂

The highlight of my week this week was getting to watch sweet Hannah who is Don & Ashleigh’s sweet babe from church.

I soaked in every minute of holding her!
