Benta’s Baptism

Sunday was also a big day when Benta was baptized into the church

Bob and I were sponsors and look forward to teaching her about Christ as she grows up

She was SO good and looked adorable wearing the same baptismal gown that Carrie and I both wore

She was a little confused when Pastor Ben poured water over her head but it really didn’t phase her at all!

Sweet baby didn’t even cry when Pastor Ben walked her around the church introducing her to the rest of the congregation!  She did SO well!

Nick, Benta, Carrie, Kelly, Bob after the baptism

Baby girl was in such a good mood!  She was just soo sweet!

I don’t have the rest of the pictures of the family with her (I was taking pictures on Nick’s camera)

We then went out for a nice brunch and headed back to my parent’s house for B to open a few baptismal gifts

I got this sweet doll from the shop Friends of Suzy and was so happy with how cute she turned out!

Benta was once again all-about the gift opening!

It was so hard to leave after a fun two days together, but we are going to spend time with them soon!

Benta’s 1st Birthday Party

We traveled to Wisconsin this past weekend to celebrate our favorite niece’s 1st birthday!  It is SO hard to believe that an entire year has passed since this little girl entered our lives…and we were excited to celebrate her!

Carrie made an awesome candy bar and other snacks and we had plenty of yummy food

Benta was absolutely THRILLED to open her gifts and I have never seen a one year old open and enjoy so many new things!  She was SO into it, and it was so much fun to watch!

She got so many cute things…toys, puzzles, books, clothes! It is so much fun shopping for little ones!

A new Raffi DVD!

And a new wagon….but look at all of the people who love this little girl!

She loved loved loved these balloons

I found her sweet little dress a few weeks ago and she already had that perfect bow that matched!

Carrie made this awesome cupcake cake as her smash cake and we were all excited to watch how she reacted

She was pretty hesitant at first and wasn’t sure about it all

After a few bites, she kind of looked around to see if anyone was going to stop her…it was so cute!

This is one of my favorites!

I got those cute little bloomers a few months ago for this specific occasion and they were perfect!

Nick, Carrie, & Benta

Then it was time for pictures with everyone!

Amma, Afi, & Benta (my parents)

B and her Great Amma

Benta and her Grandma and Grandpa B

Benta and her Aunt Kristi (Nick’s sister)

Uncle Bob, Auntie Kelly and Benta

We had such a fun day celebrating this cutie and loved getting to spend the day with her!

Winter Catch Up

I feel like I haven’t had much to blog about for the past few months….but wanted to tie up some loose ends of the little things we have been up to!

We went to the annual Christmas Tree Burning on a nearby lake where 300+ trees are burned in a huge bonfire!

It was pretty cold and windy, but we still had fun!

Bob and his buddy Hans went to Red Bull’s Crashed Ice for the 4th (I think) time!

It starts at the Cathedral of St. Paul where the skaters then traverse a steep course to the finish line

We got a new lamp in our living room that Bob was super excited about 🙂

Bob was super excited to see the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile at work!

Valentine’s Day weekend this year we decided to be of service to other families who have small kids and volunteer to baby-sit

Friday night our church hosted a couples workshop (that we had already done in our small group) so along with Billy and Becca from our group watched the kiddos whose parents were attending.  I think we had about 15 kids and we were TIRED by the end!  Hopefully we tired the kiddos out so their parents had an easy night as well 🙂

The cake above was made by Terri, one of our pastor’s wives and small group leader, and let me tell you how absolutely AMAZING it was!

The whole table and decorations were amazing and I am positive all of the couples loved every minute!

Then, Saturday night, we baby-sat for our friends Rob and Laura who have Laila and Quinn so that they could have a night out.  It was so much fun to play and laugh with these two girls!

Quinn in an Anna wig!  We just about died laughing!

Then I laughed even harder when Bob wore it!

Laila wasn’t too sure about us at first, but Bob quickly won her over and we had a great time!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day the following weekend at one of our favorite restaurants, Manitou Station.

Bob surprised me one night by making my absolute favorite dessert from our vacation, Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.  It is absolutely to die for and if you ever go on a Carnival cruise you MUST order it at dinner (I did every single night!)

I was so happy to finish sewing the numbers and letters on these customized jersey’s for a friend from church (who I teach Cubbies -preschool- with on Wednesday nights).  Sewing on jersey material will NOT be on my list of things to do every again!

But I think they turned out well!

I finished our 2014 Shutterfly book which I was excited about, considering last years didn’t get finished until September as I recall 🙂

The highlight of my week this week was getting to watch sweet Hannah who is Don & Ashleigh’s sweet babe from church.

I soaked in every minute of holding her!

Jamie’s Baby Shower

I have a strong feeling that 2015 may once again be a year filled with babies….

Working on a floor where the average age of employees is about 30 years old and approximately 95% are female we ALWAYS have expectant mamas!

Jamie is one of the sweetest girls I know and is expecting a little boy this April!

It was so fun getting to celebrate and shower her with some fun goodies before her sweet babe gets here!  I about died when she opened this scrub/stethoscope bib! How fitting!

Remember Eli?  It’s hard to believe he is almost 1 now!  I got to spend time loving on this little guy which made my day!

I am so blessed to have such wonderful coworkers! (and we all cannot wait to meet Baby G!)
